China’s ambassador to Angola, Zhang Bin stated last week, that the bilateral relations between the two countries were undergoing a phase of qualitative transformation, characterised by notable “economic pragmatism” and results that had exceeded expectations.
During the inauguration of the Phoenix Bridge Industrial Complex in the municipality of Bom Jesus, the diplomat told the press that the rising number of Chinese companies with investments in Angola, together with their role in promoting industrial development, reflected the high level of co-operation between the two countries.
Ambassador Zhang Bin highlighted that Chinese investments boost tax revenue and employment, reaffirming China’s commitment to Angola’s economic diversification. The diplomat also added that China will continue to reinforce communication and collaboration with the Angolan Government, with the aim of creating more favourable conditions for co-operation between companies from both countries.
Zhang Bin further assured that the establishment of this industrial complex represented an important outcome of the active participation of Chinese companies in Angola’s economic development. According to him, this investment, combined with the support of financial incentives, demonstrates the deepening of bilateral co-operation.
