Angola’s Minister of the Interior, Manuel Gomes da Conceição Homem, received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Angola, Zhang Bin, in an audience in Luanda last week, during a meeting focused on strengthening bilateral co-operation in the areas of public security and internal order. Ambassador Zhang Bin said that relations between China and Angola had advanced steadily in recent years, and that co-operation in various areas had continued to deepen. He underlined that the Chinese side would continue, as always, to raise awareness among, and guide, Chinese enterprises and citizens to act in accordance with local laws and regulations, contributing to Angola’s common development.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the implementation of the Co-operation Agreement on Public Security and Internal Order between Angola and China, with a focus on the exchange of criminal intelligence information, the sharing of experience and the strengthening of institutional collaboration between the two countries.

The meeting also served to reaffirm the commitment of Luanda and Beijing to deepening joint actions in the security sector, promoting co-operation mechanisms that contribute to combating crime, as well as strengthening public order and tranquillity.
