The Brazil Investment Seminar 2026 – Hangzhou Edition was successfully held recently. The event was co-organised by the Consulate-General of Brazil in Shanghai and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Hangzhou Committee (CCPIT Hangzhou). It was attended by the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), Banco do Brasil Shanghai Branch, representatives of the investment promotion agencies of the states of São Paulo (InvestSP), Mato Grosso, Santa Catarina and Piauí, as well as local authorities and around 300 representatives of Chinese companies from the sectors of digital economy, renewable energy, intelligent manufacturing and cross-border trade.

In his speech, the Consul-General of Brazil in Shanghai, Augusto Pestana, highlighted that China-Brazil relations are going through one of their best moments in history. The diplomat underlined that, in a global context marked by protectionist trends, Brazil and China are jointly reaffirming their commitment to multilateralism and economic openness.

For his part, Zhang Hongbin, President of CCPIT Hangzhou, highlighted the complementarity between Hangzhou’s industrial strengths and the Brazilian market. He expressed the expectation that more companies would use the seminar to understand new investment attraction policies and the financing mechanisms available.
