On 28 February, the Immigration Museum will host a special programme in celebration of Chinese New Year, in partnership with the Brazil-China Socio-Cultural Institute (Ibrachina), the Dao Centre for Oriental Culture, the FAAP Confucius Institute for Business and the Brazilian School of Chinese Medicine (EBRAMEC). Free and open to the public, the event will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will feature a series of cultural activities celebrating China's ancient traditions.
The programme includes Tai Chi Chuan classes, a tea ceremony, a gastronomic workshop, consultations based on Traditional Chinese Medicine, children's activities, the use of traditional Chinese costumes for photos, and the traditional Dragon and Lion Dance, one of the most emblematic manifestations of the Spring Festival. The activities are designed to provide the public with an immersive experience, broadening their knowledge of Chinese culture and its historical and symbolic expressions.
For Thomas Law, president of Ibrachina, the initiative reinforces the role of cultural institutions in promoting dialogue between peoples and valuing cultural diversity.
