The director of Macau's Tourism Services, Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, said on February 17 that Portugal will be one of the Chinese region's priorities when it comes to attracting more foreign visitors.
On January 28, the Macau Tourism Services Department (DST) announced that Macau will once again be present at the Lisbon Travel Market (BTL) between February 25 and March 1, after a year's absence. The MGTO also said that it will participate in a promotional campaign for travel agencies in Portugal in February. According to the website of the tour operator group “Os Especialistas,” the campaign will visit Viseu, Porto, Braga, Coimbra, and Lisbon.
Macau was not present at the previous edition of BTL, which took place between March 12 and 16, 2025, but at the time the DST assured that Portugal remained “a priority market.”
