A delegation of students and teachers from the Gafanha da Nazaré school group has concluded its participation in the International Robotics Championship, which took place on 6 and 7 January 2026 in the city of Wuxi, China.
The junior team that won the competition in Portugal belongs to the Gafanha da Nazaré School Group and was accompanied by teachers Manuela Margaça and Sérgio Magueta.
Considered a ‘remarkable and transformative’ experience, the trip to China meant strengthening knowledge, but above all, strengthening social skills through contact with children and young people from a wide variety of geographical areas.
Sérgio Magueta says it was an ‘extraordinary international experience.’ "More than a robotics competition, this was a true meeting of cultures, talents, and people. The results in the competition are important, of course, but the highlight is the team spirit, the ability to overcome challenges, the sharing of knowledge and the experience of a reality completely different from our own."
