During the first quarter of 2026, the UFMG Knowledge Space presents the short-term exhibition Transnational Diaries. Between 14 January and 15 March, the exhibition occupies the 5th floor hall and admission is free. The proposal invites the public to explore stories linked to China-Brazil migration based on experiences lived in the hypercentre of Belo Horizonte.

The exhibition presents the results of an international investigation that examines the relationships between migration, trade, and forms of urban subsistence on the Brazil-China route. The focus is on personal trajectories, work networks, and daily practices that shape the Chinese presence in the city. Thus, visitors are guided by narratives that articulate displacement, popular economy, and contemporary urban life.

Through images, texts and visual elements, Transnational Diaries constructs a sensitive space for encountering memories and experiences. The exhibition highlights the flows of people, goods and knowledge that traverse everyday urban life. In addition, it reveals concrete and affective dimensions of globalisation based on real stories.
