Daniel Ramos has been named coach of the year in China. The Portuguese coach received the award at a gala recently organized by the Chinese Football Association in Shanghai, following votes by coaches, captains, the media, and fans.

Fighting to stay up, his club, Henan FC, comfortably achieved its goal by finishing 10th in the Chinese league and even reached the final of the Chinese Cup, where it was beaten only by Guga's Beijing Guoan (0-3).

The 54-year-old coach has been coaching in Asia since April 2025 and has played a total of 27 games (12 wins, 6 draws, 9 losses). He had a contract until the end of the year, but has already renewed it for another season.

“With the 2025 season over, it's time to thank everyone who has accompanied and helped us along this journey in Henan. We achieved our goals and surpassed them, making history, even though we didn't win the Cup,” the Portuguese coach wrote on social media, taking stock of the season.
