Recently, the president of the National Nuclear Energy Commission (CNEN), Francisco Rondinelli Júnior, reaffirmed Brazil's commitment to the development of nuclear fusion technology and presented the country's advances in the area during the second ministerial meeting of the IAEA World Fusion Energy Group in Chengdu, China. The meeting was held in cooperation with the Chinese Atomic Energy Authority.
In a speech to authorities and experts from the nuclear sector in various countries, Rondinelli emphasized that Brazil is “strongly committed to the common goal of promoting and accelerating the development of nuclear fusion technology for the well-being of society.”
According to the president of CNEN, the country is advancing gradually, but with clear priorities focused on building national capacity, expanding industrial participation as a strategic partner, and making an effective contribution to the global fusion community. Several priorities guide the Brazilian Nuclear Fusion Program.
