The Maputo Central Hospital (HCM) recently opened a new clinical simulation centre, designed to enhance the training of healthcare professionals. The space has been equipped with mannequins and simulation technology that allow practitioners to practise procedures and make clinical decisions in a realistic context before acting on patients.
According to the newspaper Notícias, the centre was created as part of the cooperation between HCM and Huaxi Hospital, Sichuan University, China, marking another milestone in bilateral relations in the field of health. The facility will enable trainees to develop practical skills, teamwork and rapid response to complex clinical situations.
Last April, the two countries signed an agreement for the construction of a modern National Surgery Centre, also on the premises of HCM, with funding of around 2.7 billion meticais (40.5 million dollars) provided by the Chinese Government.
Both initiatives reflect a cooperation strategy that prioritises not only the construction of large-scale infrastructure, but also investment in practical and continuous training platforms.
