China's Lancang-Mekong Education, Training, and Promotion Alliance (LCETPA) has presented three proposals for future cooperation with Timor-Leste. The announcement was made at the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Industry Forum, held as part of the 2nd International Skills Week.

According to LCETPA President Alan Yang, the first partnership will focus on creating technical and vocational education standards. The second form of cooperation will be through annual teacher exchange programs in Southeast Asia, and the third partnership involves launching a pilot project that aims to leverage small initiatives, for example, by promoting training in the agricultural sector.

Deputy Minister of Trade Augusto Júnior Trindade recalled that technical and vocational training is a strategic element for the country's economic and social development. He expressed hope for a future in which all young Timorese will have the opportunity to develop excellent technical and professional skills.
