Crude oil from Timor-Leste, transported by the Yuanjinghe ship with 24,300 tons of cargo, recently docked successfully at the Port of Meizhou Bay, in Fujian Province, eastern China.
The journey from Timor-Leste took 10 days and was completed without incident, marking the inauguration of the new energy route between Meizhou Bay and Timor-Leste. This is the first time that a port in Fujian has imported crude oil directly from that country.
According to a representative from the port development center, Fujian mainly imports oil from more than ten countries, including Saudi Arabia and Iraq. The inclusion of Timor-Leste as a new supplier expands import channels, reduces dependence on traditional producing regions, and strengthens the resilience and stability of the refining industry supply chain in Fujian and the southeastern coastal region of China, creating a solid foundation for bilateral cooperation in other areas of mutual interest, he added.
