The Government of Bahia continues to advance the consolidation of strategic partnerships with China. In a meeting held with the Chinese Consul General in Rio de Janeiro, Tian Min, state secretaries Ângelo Almeida (Economic Development), Augusto Vasconcelos (Labor, Employment, Income and Sports), and Afonso Florence (Civil House) discussed joint initiatives in the areas of trade, culture, investments, and technology.
During the meeting, the investment by the Chinese automaker BYD in Bahia was highlighted as a milestone for the industrialization of the state and a step toward the modernization of the automotive industry in the country. Priority topics in infrastructure, energy, industry, and agriculture were also addressed.
Another important point of the meeting was the preparation for the China-Brazil Year of Culture and Tourism, scheduled for 2026. Bahia seeks a leading role in this context, highlighting its cultural and historical diversity as one of the major attractions for exchange between the two countries.
