Recently, the Ambassador of China to Cape Verde, Dr. Zhang Yang, met with the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Cape Verde, Dr. Miryan Vieira. The two parties exchanged in-depth views on China-Cape Verde relations and pragmatic cooperation.

Ambassador Zhang Yang emphasized that the friendship between China and Cape Verde has deep roots. Over the 49 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two countries have always been true friends and good partners. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Cape Verdean side to implement the important outcomes of the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in Beijing, thereby promoting the development of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Secretary of State Dr. Miryan Vieira warmly welcomed Ambassador Zhang Yang upon his arrival in Cape Verde and highly valued the friendship and cooperation between the two countries. She also expressed her willingness to work together with China to deepen pragmatic cooperation in various fields and achieve new progress in the strategic partnership between Cape Verde and China.
