Despite several ongoing efforts aimed at expanding exports to various markets, Brazil continues to be the main destination for BYD vehicles in 2025.

In the first half of the year, the Chinese brand shipped 443,100 passenger and light commercial vehicles to countries in Europe, the Americas, and also Asia—an increase of nearly 120% compared to the same period last year. Of the total, Brazil accounted for more than 10%, with 47,700 units sold between January and June—or 57,400 if sales from the previous month are included—placing it well ahead of key hubs such as Spain and Italy, which are being used as BYD’s strategic beachheads for expansion in Europe.

BYD aims to achieve half of its sales outside China by 2030. Almost all of its models are hybrid and electric, or new energy, as the automaker prefers to call them.
