Recently, the municipality of Russas, in the Jaguaribe Valley (CE), hosted the inauguration of the Lagoinha Solar Complex, a project that combines economic development and sustainability. The enterprise, run by the multinational CGN Brasil, not only strengthens the state's renewable energy matrix, but also promises to create more than a thousand direct and indirect jobs.
The facility has 165 megawatts of capacity, on an area of 304 hectares, enough to supply around 200,000 homes. The Lagoinha Solar Complex stands out as CGN Brasil's first greenfield project (built from scratch) in the solar sector in the country.
Governor Elmano de Freitas highlighted the importance of the project: "This is a collaboration between the Chinese state, the Chinese people and the Brazilian people. This project here expresses concretely how we can effectively collaborate with humanity so that we can overcome the effects of climate change."
