Recently held at the Casa Garden Auditorium, the 7th Mostra de Cinema Português em Macau presents a selection of films that reveal the diversity and vitality of Portuguese cinema, with works for all audiences. The event brings a selection of Portuguese films to the city, in an initiative organized by the Macau branch of the Fundação Oriente, in association with Portugal Film - Agência Internacional de Cinema Português.

This year's selection includes ‘Ice Merchants’, by João Gonzalez, an animated short film that marked the history of Portuguese cinema by being the first to be nominated for the Oscars.

“It was a resounding success and, for that very reason, a difficult year for the other films that premiered at the same time,” explains the show's curator Margarida Moz to PLATAFORMA. Even so, Margarida Moz emphasizes that the show aims to represent different genres and styles, in a cinema that, although it doesn't belong on the commercial blockbuster circuit, has won over audiences at film festivals and cinemas all over the world.
