The Chinese and Overseas Charity Foundation in Cape Verde was officially established on June 13 with the goal of uniting solidarity efforts to support vulnerable groups, promoting traditional Chinese values and the friendship between the two countries.

According to the Foundation's president, the initiative also aims to strengthen ties between the Chinese and Cape Verdean communities, promoting the traditional Chinese cultural values of solidarity and brotherhood. He also proposed continuously innovating social action models, expanding the reach of charity initiatives, and enhancing the efficiency and quality of charitable work.

In turn, Minister of Finance of Cape Verde, Olavo Correia, praised the role of the Chinese community in the country and highlighted the importance of the new institution for Cape Verdean society, recognizing the contribution of the Chinese community residing in Cape Verde to the country's development process.
