A delegation of about a dozen investors from the People's Republic of China visited Madeira last week to explore cooperation opportunities in sectors such as technology, innovation, renewable energy, and sustainability.
The Regional Secretary of Economy of Madeira, José Manuel Rodrigues, took the opportunity to present the political and economic systems and tax benefits for foreign investors in Madeira, emphasizing that "it is essential to develop actions that attract foreign investment, as this is a decisive factor for the region's economic growth."
During the visit, the Madeira Central Hospital project became the focus of cooperation. The Director of Development and Projects at the University of Macau, revealed the interest of Chinese entrepreneurs in collaborating with the new Madeira Central Hospital, particularly in the development of laboratory technologies, in order to help improve local medical technology and scientific research capacity.
