The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) carried out a Brazilian Mission to China from May 13 to 17, with the aim of beginning the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the National Bureau of Statistics of China in 2024 and signing two new agreements: one with the Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies (ACCWS) and another with Hebei Normal University.
The Director of Surveys (DPE), Gustavo Junger, noted that the opportunity for dialogue with the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS) allowed for an understanding of its strategies for modernizing statistical production.
According to the Memorandum of Understanding signed with ACCWS, both parties agreed to establish a Joint Research Center and began discussions for organizing the Governance Seminar and Civilization Forum, to be held on June 30 and July 1, 2025, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ).
According to Cesar Augusto, Deputy General Coordinator of ENCE, the agreement with Hebei Normal University was important to initiate cooperation with institutions beyond the Europe and Americas axis.
