Trade between China, Portuguese-speaking Countries nearly US$44.181bln in January-March 2024

Trade in merchandise between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$44.181 billion in the period from January to March 2025. It represented a 18.62 percent decrease year-on-year, according to data from China Customs. Portuguese-speaking Countries sold goods worth US$24.487 billion to China in the three month of 2025 – a decrease of 30.12 percent year-on-year. The value of China’s merchandise exports to those countries reached US$19.694 billion in the same period, an increase of 2.33 percent year-on-year.


The total value of merchandise traded in March between the parties topped US$14.999 billion, a decrease of 8.28 percent from the prior-year period. The value of China’s merchandise imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$7.501 billion, down 28.64 percent year-to-year, according to Chinese official data. China sold goods to those countries worth US$7.499 billion in March, an increase of 28.36 percent compared with the previous year.
