The 20th Chinese medical team ended its mission in Cape Verde on May 3rd with more than three thousand visits after two years of mission and gave way to the 21st team.

The team arrived in Cape Verde in September 2022 for a 20-month mission.

During this period, according to the Ministry of Health, the team of 8 doctors specializing in obstetric gynecology, traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture, neurosurgery, intensive care, anesthesia and general surgery worked in the most diverse areas within the Agostinho Neto hospital, serving 3,193 patients in consultations. , 2,562 patients admitted, 2,866 surgeries and 908 patients in critical condition, etc.

The same team also intervened in the areas of education and training, reaching more than 300 professionals, helped the country in the creation of the first intensive care center in the country and is actively promoting the hospital cooperation mechanism aimed at the intensive medicine and anesthesiology departments of the Agostinho Neto hospital.
