The Luso-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCILC) received Portugal’s Consul-General in Guangzhou, Tomás Azevedo, at its representative office in Changsha, in China’s Hunan Province, on 15 September.

The visit provided an opportunity to learn about the CCILC’s structure in the region and strengthen co-ordination with Portuguese authorities in China, as part of the Chamber’s efforts to deepen business and institutional ties between the two countries.

Topics discussed included support for Portuguese small and medium-sized enterprises seeking to enter the Chinese market. The participants also discussed promoting the CCILC among the local business community and creating new opportunities for co-operation between Portuguese and Chinese companies and institutions.

During the meeting, the parties also reiterated their willingness to support future visits by Chinese business delegations to Portugal and initiatives to promote Portuguese companies in the Chinese market.

The CCILC’s representative office in Changsha supports closer ties between companies from the two countries by facilitating contacts and co-operation opportunities in the Chinese market.

The Chamber also stressed the importance of co-operation with the Consulate-General of Portugal in Guangzhou in continuing to strengthen economic and business ties between Portugal and China, as well as supporting the presence of Portuguese companies in that market.
