Mozambique’s Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Estêvão Pale, last week invited Chinese and international investors to invest in processing and transforming the country’s mineral and energy resources. The aim is to promote industrialisation, technology transfer, job creation and the development of local value chains.
The invitation was extended during the Belt and Road Geoscientific Co-operation and Mining Investment Forum, held as part of the 28th China Mining Conference and Exhibition 2026. On the occasion, the Minister presented investment opportunities in Mozambique and the reforms under way to promote greater processing and transformation of the country’s resources.
Estêvão Pale said that Mozambique was open to investment and intended to develop economic relations that would enable it to turn its resources into products and industries, create jobs and promote shared prosperity.
The Minister also invited the business sector to participate in the 2026 Conference on Value Addition Based on Available Mineral and Energy Resources (CAVAME-d), which will be held from 19 to 24 October 2026 in Nacala-Porto. During the event, concrete investment packages aimed at adding value to Mozambique’s available mineral and energy resources will be presented.
