Chinese Ambassador to Cabo Verde signs memoranda of understanding with President of the National Assembly

On 2 September, China’s Ambassador to Cabo Verde, Zhang Yang, and the President of Cabo Verde’s National Assembly, Janira Hopffer Almada, signed memoranda of understanding regarding the joint organisation of a seminar and friendship activities between the two countries.

 

Ambassador Zhang Yang said that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cabo Verde. The Chinese side hopes to deepen the exchange of governance experience with Cabo Verde through seminars and other initiatives, as well as use friendship activities to promote the exchanges between peoples of the two countries. China is willing to continue deepening traditional friendship and reinforce co-operation and exchanges with Cabo Verde’s National Assembly, in order to elevate the China-Cabo Verde Strategic Partnership to a new level.

 

The President of the National Assembly, Janira Hopffer Almada, said that, over the last 50 years, Cabo Verde and China have maintained relations based on mutual respect and equality, achieving fruitful results through pragmatic co-operation in various areas. The National Assembly of Cabo Verde is willing to strengthen the exchange of experience through joint activities, promote co-operation between municipalities and continuously enrich the substance of the Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
