Recently, the mayor of Itaguaí, Rubem Vieira, Dr. Rubão, received the consul general of the People's Republic of China in Rio de Janeiro, Tian Min, and the commercial consul, Jing Yanhui, at a meeting aimed at strengthening economic and institutional relations between the municipality and China.
During the meeting, held at City Hall, topics such as the strategic role of the Port of Itaguaí in exports and imports between Brazil and China were discussed, as well as the possibility of new partnerships and future investments in the region.
According to the mayor, the rapprochement with the Chinese consulate represents a concrete opportunity for development and job creation. "We talked about the importance of Itaguaí, the Port, exports and imports to China, and possible partnerships for future investments. I was invited to visit the consulate and strengthen this relationship, given the great importance of the Port of Itaguaí for the state of Rio and for Brazil," said Dr. Rubão.
