Roseane Medeiros, Secretary of International Relations for Ceará, recently participated in a roundtable discussion on offshore wind energy between Brazil and China at the Blue Aspirations headquarters in Hangzhou. The meeting brought together representatives from companies and institutions from both countries to discuss technological cooperation, exchange experiences, and new projects in the sector.

The event is part of the official mission of the Government of Ceará in China, which aims to reinforce the state's role as a national leader in renewable energy. Currently, Brazil has 104 offshore wind energy projects under licensing by IBAMA, 26 of which are in Ceará, with a total capacity of 66.37 GW — the highest potential among Brazilian states.

During the meeting, Medeiros highlighted the factors that make Ceará strategic for offshore wind power generation: constant winds, an extensive coastline, and shallow coastal waters, which reduce turbine installation and maintenance costs. These conditions put Ceará on the radar of large international companies.
