The Xinhua News Agency reaffirmed in Maputo its commitment to continue playing a central role in promoting and disseminating the historic relations between China and Mozambique.

The assurance was given by Xinhua Africa's regional deputy director, Li Wenfei, during the opening of the photo exhibition "50 Years of Memories: Continuing the Traditional Sino-Mozambican Friendship," which celebrates half a century of diplomatic ties between the two countries. Organized into three sections, the exhibition brings together 150 historical images depicting key moments in the friendship between Beijing and Maputo.

Xinhua established its delegation in Maputo in the same year that Mozambique gained independence and has since played an active role in covering political, economic, and social events, giving international visibility to the progress of bilateral cooperation.

The event brought together government officials, diplomats, and representatives of civil society, reinforcing the view that the strategic partnership between the two countries remains a pillar for shared development.
