Chinese multinational announces turbine and battery factory in Bahia

One of the world’s largest manufacturers of wind turbines, the Chinese multinational company Windey Energy, confirmed during a ceremony in Salvador, State of Bahia, the establishment of its operational base in Brazil. Bahia was chosen to host both the research center and the future factory for state-of-the-art turbines and batteries.


The proposal is to transform the state into a complete industrial hub, covering everything from component manufacturing to high-level research. The arrival of Windey is expected to boost local equipment production, enhance technical workforce training, and attract new investors.


Executives from Windey, state authorities, senators, and representatives from the science and technology sector attended the inauguration event. All highlighted the importance of projects like this in repositioning Brazil as a global reference in the energy transition. This bilateral partnership reinforced Brazil’s commitment to innovation and green industrialization and also became a significant milestone in China-Brazil cooperation in the renewable energy sector.
