Recently, the Macau Polytechnic University announced the creation of a joint laboratory with the University of Coimbra that will use artificial intelligence (AI) to study the link between nutrition and “healthy longevity”.
In a statement, the Macau Polytechnic said that the new laboratory will “make the most of the two universities' strengths in the areas of artificial intelligence, health sciences, and nutritional technology, actively promoting interdisciplinary research” and “train high-level talent for Macau's health industry,” while also contributing to “scientific research and innovation in the field of smart health in Macau and Portugal and supporting scientific and technological cooperation between China and Portugal”.
The Portuguese institution and the Polytechnic had launched a double doctorate in information technology, which is beginning to show its first results, with 18 students, divided between Portuguese and Chinese.
