On May 18, the final of the Brazilian regional stage of the 2025 edition of the Chinese Bridge competition for university and high school students was held at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. 

The two-day event was organized by the Chinese Embassy in Brazil, held by the Confucius Institute at PUC-Rio and sponsored by CNOOC Brasil (China National Offshore Oil Corporation). A total of 25 university students and 11 high school students took part, nominated by 12 Brazilian Confucius Institutes and the Chinese Bridge Club of São Paulo.

Both categories of the competition included four stages: talent demonstration, themed speech, recitation of passages and listening comprehension test. After a fierce competition, students from the Confucius Institute of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and the Confucius Institute of the State University of Campinas won the university student and high school student categories, respectively. They will represent Brazil in the world final of the competition, which will take place in China.
