The RN–China Parliamentary Front for Economic Cooperation was recently established in the Legislative Assembly of Rio Grande do Norte. The front's proposal is to expand dialogue with Asia's largest economy in areas such as renewable energy, agriculture, mining, infrastructure, culture, and innovation.

The ceremony was attended by the Chinese Consul General in Recife, Lan Heping. Mayors and businesspeople who have commercial relations with China also attended the event. The president of Fecomércio-RN, Marcelo Queiroz, reinforced the need to mobilize the business sector to take advantage of the opportunities generated by the relationship with China. “RN needs to build a solid and proactive strategic agenda. The productive sector is ready to contribute.”

As a result of the series of meetings, the RN-China Connection was confirmed, scheduled for the end of September and bringing together local businesspeople and members of the Chinese consular corps in Brazil.
