Professor Alencar Junior Zanon, from the Agronomy course and the postgraduate programs in Agronomy and Agricultural Engineering, represented UFSM and Brazil at the International Symposium on Global Crop Yield Potential, held recently at Huazhong Agricultural University.
The symposium brought together researchers from globally renowned institutions, such as the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (USA), the University of Mar del Plata (Argentina), the Philippine Rice Research Institute, and the China Agricultural University, with representatives from various countries around the world.
Zanon presented the results of the Soybean Money Maker (SMM) project, developed at UFSM. SMM is dedicated to understanding the limitations of soybean crops in Brazil, providing data and technical recommendations to producers with the aim of reconciling increased soybean production with reduced environmental impact.
