The ports of Shandong, China, handled more than 950 million tons of cargo in the first half of 2025, up 4% over the same period in 2024. Among the new international logistics corridors, the “Brazil-Qingdao-Netherlands” route stands out.

In August, the OKIANA ship brought imported pulp to the Port of Qingdao and returned with containers of goods to the Netherlands, directly connecting Brazil to the Chinese port network.

Shandong's ports operate more than 360 shipping routes, connecting to more than 700 ports in 180 countries. In addition to international expansion, the ports are investing in innovation. The Port of Weifang opened the first national green hydrogen station, making domestic transportation more sustainable and reducing energy costs by about RMB 1.65 million per year.

New rail and maritime corridors connect regions of China, expanding logistics capacity and consolidating Shandong's ports as strategic global hubs for foreign trade, including with Brazil.
