A documentary produced by Grupo Bandeirantes de Comunicação in partnership with Chinese state broadcaster CCTV gave unprecedented visibility to Mato Grosso's leading role in commercial and diplomatic relations between Brazil and China. The production was shown during the BRICS meeting in Rio de Janeiro and presented to hundreds of millions of Chinese viewers, showing what Brazil is like and how China is viewed.

Entitled Bond With China, the documentary is part of CCTV's special programming on the bloc's member countries. The production focused on cooperation between the two countries, which are celebrating 51 years of diplomatic relations, and also showed the economic and cultural opportunities between China and Brazil, with an emphasis on exports of beef, grains, coffee, and sustainable products, such as Mato Grosso beef. 

State representatives reinforced the strategic role of the state in Sino-Brazilian trade relations and showed, in practice, how Mato Grosso is preparing to further expand its presence in China.
