PUC-Rio and the Brazil-China Business Council (CEBC) have formalized a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the aim of strengthening cooperation between Brazil and China in strategic areas such as innovation, sustainability, and energy transition. The agreement provides for the creation of a Sino-Brazilian Innovation Center, which will be integrated into the university's Technology Innovation Park.

The agreement also provides for international missions to China, in addition to the annual organization of the ECOA Brazil-China event, promoted by the university. Among the priority topics are the development of low-carbon technologies, the stimulation of investments in green infrastructure, and the formulation of policies to encourage innovation.

According to the rector of PUC-Rio, Father Anderson Antonio Pedroso, “The internationalization of education and the exchange of cultures and knowledge are proposals welcomed by PUC-Rio in a globalized world. The partnership with CEBC, beyond the limits of the university, will bring benefits to the whole society, attracting investments, companies, and promoting research, especially related to climate issues.”
