UFG recently received a visit from the Minister-Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Brazil, Jia Chen, accompanied by the Second Secretary, Zhang Delong. The meeting celebrated the long and successful history of cooperation between the University and Chinese institutions.

The visit was preceded by a talk by the diplomat at the headquarters of the Association of Teachers of the Federal Universities of Goiás, organized by UFG's International Relations Office, which highlighted the pillars of Chinese development and its emphasis on people’s well-being and the potential of the Brazil-China partnership in the face of the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.

“We have a significant record of rapprochement and collaboration, especially in areas such as nurse training, agriculture and, of course, the Confucius Institute, which plays a key role in this cultural and educational exchange,” said UFG vice-rector Jesiel Carvalho. At the meeting, discussions highlighted the importance of understanding China's history, culture and political structure as a basis for respectful and lasting cooperation. This meeting laid solid foundations for the expansion of educational and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
