State deputy from Ceará, Sérgio Aguiar, arrived in China representing Brazil together with a delegation of parliamentarians from Unale (National Union of State Legislators and Legislatures) at the “2025 Legislators Forum for Friend Exchanges,” an event held by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC).

Together with 58 other parliamentarians from 45 countries, the UNALE members participated in a meeting where topics such as strengthening multilateralism and the role of the UN, the need to reinforce the World Trade Organization, expanding international cooperation in infrastructure, defending the national sovereignty of countries, and encouraging modern trade practices were discussed.

Sérgio Aguiar emphasizes that multilateralism needs to be translated into concrete actions: “It is essential to strengthen organizations such as the UN and the WTO, but also to advance modern trade practices that allow for greater balance in international economic relations.”
