Uíge provincial government strengthens cooperation with China in the areas of infrastructure, cross-border trade, and tourism

Recently, during a courtesy meeting with the Chinese Ambassador to Angola, Zhang Bin, the Provincial Governor of Uíge, José Carvalho da Rocha, expressed his intention to deepen bilateral cooperation with the People’s Republic of China, focusing on the construction of road infrastructure, the development of a commercial city in the border area with the Democratic Republic of Congo, and the promotion of the tourism sector.


For his part, Chinese diplomat Zhang Bin acknowledged the progress made so far in the national reconstruction process and stressed the importance of continuing cooperation with Uíge, a province with an agricultural tradition, especially in coffee production, highlighting the role that infrastructure construction has played over more than 20 years of partnership.


Zhang Bin also stated that his visit to the province aims to identify new business opportunities, with the analysis of areas with economic and strategic potential for future investments still open. Local authorities and the Chinese delegation remain committed to defining areas of economic interest and fostering strategic partnerships that contribute to the sustainable development of the region.
