The Chinese company Yucheng Group will set up a non-ferrous metal recycling industrial park in Mozambique, with a capacity of one million tons per year.

“The total production volume will be around one million tons per year, we will create jobs for around three thousand workers, and it will also bring in significant foreign currency revenue,” said a Yucheng representative after a meeting in Maputo with Mozambican President Daniel Chapo.

The official also said he hopes to move forward with the project “as soon as possible” after receiving assurances from the Mozambican head of state about conditions for the project. “We were very well received, and [the Mozambican president] gave us confidence that we will work well here in Mozambique,” the official said.
