Angolan Head of State João Lourenço has extended an invitation to his counterpart from the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, to attend the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of Angola's independence in Luanda on November 11.
The invitation was recently delivered in Beijing by Angola's Ambassador to China, Dalva Maurícia Ringote Allen, to the Director-General of the African Affairs Department of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Du Xiaohui, according to a press release.
During the meeting, the ambassadors expressed satisfaction with the excellent relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries. They also agreed on the need for regular bilateral technical meetings between ministerial departments of both nations to ensure better monitoring of ongoing projects and initiatives.
The Chinese diplomat highlighted the historical and strategic value China places on its relations with Angola, which began during Angola's most challenging times. On this occasion, China did not hesitate and spared no effort in providing support, fully reflecting the deep friendship and strategic trust between the two sides.. For her part, Dalva Ringote Allen provided a comprehensive overview of Angola's participation in the recently concluded Ministerial Conference of Coordinators for the Implementation of the Outcomes of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
