Chinese medical team in Cape Verde carries out last activity before ending its mission in the country

On March 2, the 20th Chinese medical team in Cape Verde held free consultations and handed out hospital supplies in the municipality of Tarrafal, closing the cycle of activities carried out in the country since 2022.


Lan Yunping, an intensivist and head of the team, explained to Inforpress that the team's aim has been to provide health care for the Cape Verdean people and to strengthen the friendly exchange between China and Cape Verde.


That day, she said, in the municipality of Tarrafal, in the interior of the island of Santiago, they treated more than 60 patients in various specialties, including Internal Medicine, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Anesthesiology and Pain, General Surgery, Neurosurgery and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Acupuncture, and also delivered some materials to the Health Center, such as disinfectant, syringes, surgical masks, N95 masks, protective clothing, among others.


The 20th Chinese medical team in Cape Verde began in September 2022 and Lan Yunping said that they had carried out 15 medical missions, offering free consultations and equipment, benefiting the islands of São Vicente, Boa Vista, Sal and ending in Tarrafal.
