The Chinese business group Wang-Kang Safira, a multinational that has been operating in the country since 2024 and has one of the largest ceramics factories in Africa, will invest in the construction of a new steel factory based on local coal, continuing to optimize its investment in the Mozambican market.
According to projections revealed by Lusa, the venture will be based in northern Mozambique and aims to boost local mineral processing and industrial goods production.
According to the head of Wang-Kang Safira, the project aims to significantly expand the Chinese presence in the national industrial sector and boost the economy. “We want to move forward with other initiatives, transform production, and modernize the industrialization process.”
