Xi’an Aircraft sells 2 MA-60s to Angolan carrier

Xi’an Aircraft Industrial Corp. of China has sold two of its MA-60 planes to an Angolan carrier, Xinhua reports.

The Chinese state-run news agency quotes Xi’an Aircraft Deputy General Manager Zhang Xiaohong as saying: “The MA-60 planes will shorten travel time for passengers in Angola.”

The report says the Chinese plane maker failed to give the name of the carrier buying the planes or the price it will pay.

Mr Zhang added: “The deal will increase the popularity of such aircraft on the international market.”

The MA-60 short-range and medium-range airliner has sold well in Africa, Asia, and Latin America since 2005 because its operating and maintenance costs are low, Xinhua says.
