Monte do Pasto Group bets on the Asian market

The Monte do Pasto Group, which currently exports to Macao and Hong Kong, wants to increase meat exports to the Asian market, namely to Japan South Korea, Singapore and Vietnam.

Founded in 1981, Monte do Pasto was acquired in 2019 by the CESL Asia group, currently exporting 95% of production. The company produces cattle and sheep on 4,200 hectares in the municipalities of Cuba and Alvito.

The Asian market is one of the targets of Monte do Pasto’s new brand, “Autêntico Portuguese Cuisine”, inspired by Portuguese cuisine and officially presented during the Ovibeja agricultural fair, which took place between the 27th of April and the 1st of May.

According to the administrator, the new brand has in its portfolio, in addition to beef, black pork, lamb, fish and shellfish. The first products bearing the “Authentic Portuguese Cuisine” seal will be exported this week to Macao.
