Macau arts festival to incorporate Day of Portugal

An international arts festival to be held in Macau next year will incorporate older events such as the Day of Portugal celebrations, Lusa reports.

The Portuguese news agency says Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Alexis Tam has asked some operators of Macau casinos to invite artists from all over the world to exhibit during the festival.

The report quotes a written statement issued by Mr Tam’s staff as saying the festival will last for 4 months and have a wide-ranging programme, which will incorporate the Macau International Youth Dance Festival and the Macau Arts Festival.

Mr Tam and Chinese Culture Minister Luo Shugang met recently to discuss cultural exchanges between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries, Lusa says.
