Govt to entice foreigners to invest more in China

A Chinese economic planning official has said the government will take measures this year to attract more foreign investment in China, making it easier for foreigners to enter the Chinese market and encouraging them to spread their capital around the country more evenly, Xinhua reports.

The Chinese state-run news agency quotes the official, Ning Jizhe of the National Development and Reform Commission, as telling a news conference that the rules governing capital transfers and land use will be the same for foreigners and Chinese alike, if they invest in the central, western and northeastern portions of the country.

Foreign investors will have full access to the general manufacturing sector and less restricted access to the services sector, Xinhua quotes Mr Ning as saying.
