Chinese Film Week in Mozambique has opened, bringing cinemagoers renowned Chinese movies such as “Happiness” and “Monster Hunt” dubbed in Portuguese, Xinhua reports.
The Chinese government-run news agency quotes Chinese Ambassador to Mozambique Su Jian as saying at the opening ceremony that he hopes Chinese films will help Mozambicans understand his country better.
“With the deepening of China-Mozambique friendship in recent years, cultural and people-to-people exchanges have become a new highlight in bilateral relations,” he said.
The report quotes Mozambican National Institute of Cultural and Creative Industries Director Ivan Bonde as saying: “It is a moment for the people of China and Mozambique to make more friends and exchange experiences in the film industry.”
The opening ceremony was attended by Mozambican film fans, officials and students, and by Chinese living in Mozambique, Xinhua says.
