Clothing manufacturers in the state of Espírito Santo will be partners of the Chinese e-commerce company, Shein, and will produce to meet the company’s operational demands. The news was announced on the 18th of August during a meeting between representatives of the company and the vice-governor and secretary of state for development, Ricardo Ferraço. In addition to the partnership with entrepreneurs from Espírito Santo, the Chinese company is studying the possibility of setting up a Distribution Center in the state.
“In 2022, Shein operated by exporting products from China to the Brazilian market and, this year, it changed its strategy and started purchasing products in Brazil. They will need 2,000 companies to supply them with products. So we’re creating the conditions so that our clothing industry can be an active supplier,” said Ferraço.
According to him, Espírito Santo is operating with idle capacity in the clothing industrial park, both in the northern region and in the Metropolitan Region of Greater Vitória.
