A survey of Chinese economists has found that they expect the Chinese economy to grow by 6.8 percent this year, the People’s Daily reports.
The Chinese Communist Party newspaper says the economists, surveyed by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Institute of Industrial Economics, also expect the growth rate last year to turn out to be 6.8 percent.
The report says the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics Institute for Advanced Research forecast recently that the economy would grow by 6.7 percent this year.
In the first three quarters of last year the annual rate of expansion of Chinese gross domestic product was 6.9 percent, the People’s Daily says.
